EMEA gets Connected+ in Cyprus
AGN EMEA hosted its 16th annual regional meeting this year in sunny Limmasol, Cyprus, on 13 - 15 June. A total of 82 delegates and 23 guests attended the event, coming from 24 different countries.
This year’s conference content was strongly supported by the regional committees and task forces. Over the two day conference period, three streams were offered to members, allowing them to select which sessions they wanted to attend. Topics included were; Brexit, VAT, Group Audit Instructions, Cyber Security , Firm Growth and succession and much more. One of the events’ highlights was the keynote from guest speaker Prof Jean van Hoegaerden on Doing Business with Different Cultures. The event concluded with a successful NextGen session about the ‘Survival of the Fittest Firm’ and was attended by both Next Genner's and partners of some of our member firms.
Attendees said farewell to regional Chairman Richard Hempe, who stepped down from his position (following the usual two-year term), and welcomed in his place Martin Gibbs. An announcement followed to inform members about next years’ regional meeting, taking place in Dresden, Germany. The new Chairman, Martin Gibbs, stated that the theme would be ‘Back to Business’.
