Asia / Pacific Region
Letter from the Chair

The challenges which our region faces are, no doubt, unique. Not only the multitude of languages, cultures, business principles, and sheer distance confront us, but we are also the fastest growing sector of the world economically and population wise.

The Chinese, Indian and Japanese economies, and in the case of China and India, tax systems are also evolving equally rapidly.

We are continually working on and enhancing strategies on how to penetrate and successfully do business in China.  Taking into account the many and varied issues of business systems, registrations,

I.P. protection
Geographical and cultural diversity
Relatively low level of skill experience
Lack of clear regulatory guidelines
Management practices of differing quality and standards

All of which must be navigated and then there is the audit and tax services that our region is well equipped to handle.

I am pleased to say we now have a representative in Vietnam—Mr Dan Trong of Viet Capital.  He will be joining us at our conference in Manila, which by the time you read this newsletter, will have already occurred.

The AGN APAC Conference
Apart from the clear benefits of getting together, our conference in Manila, the Philippines, has a comprehensive agenda and includes:

  • International Board’s affirmation of AGN as an association
  • Adoption of a resolution to form a company which will be the Asia Pacific member of AGN International.  More on this shortly.
  • Doing business in the Philippines
  • Operating and engaging a call centre
  • Partnership governance
  • Partnership growth, remuneration strategies

I would like to thank Mr. Ramon Garcia and his staff as well as the invited speakers.  This promises to be one of the best conferences to date.

I would be delighted to hear from you with any thoughts or issues with the region.

Kind Regards

David Kenney
