Dear Colleagues,
2008 has been a special year for the Central & South American Region of AGN International.
For the first time since AGN came into existance, a World Congress and Annual General Meeting have been held in the Region!
Besides this remarkable event, the year has been special in the Region due to the discussions about the structure of our professional organization. Many meetings have been held, in order to explain the differences between a professional network and an association.
From this Region, the principal attention is the possibility of increasing the professional works in the near future.
Immediately following the AGM, a regional meeting was held in Buenos Aires, where the different technical and marketing task forces have been integrated.
The Region is delighted to accept a proposal from Kane & Co., AGN member firm located in Miami, Florida, to open the firm's auditing training seminars to member staff from Central & South American firms.
Marco Mendietta, from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, has been nominated from the Region to lead the development of this professional training.
From my point of view, this kind of common activities between Central & South America and US firms may be an important tool for developing more referral work among the firms.
It is expected that 2009 will be a good year for our Region, however we are in the world that has an important crisis.
