MEETINGS

International Board Meeting – this was held over September 28 and 29; highlights were:

• ratification of seven new members and two affiliate upgrades since the last meeting
• discussions on strategies necessary for the next ten years; a specific strategic plan will be developed from this outline
• reconfirmation of association status
• approval of July 31, 2007 financials
• determination that referral fees will not continue as a source of income for the central bodies from the start of 2008
• membership fees to be increased to cover loss of revenue from referral fees; final determination of these new fees currently being worked upon
• member firm responses to the moniker competition not accepted as having sufficient quality
• new Chair and Vice Chair appointed; new director appointed

Detailed minutes of the meeting will be posted on the website after their approval by the Board. Notification of of this will be given to you in the following Worldwide Update.

World Congress 2007 – this was attended by some 86 delegates and 45 companions.  All the presentations made at this meeting are now included on the AGN website (Route:  Members/Private Home/Login/Members Only/International/World Congress Presentations).

West Asia & Africa Regional Meeting – to be held over 27 & 28 October 2007 in Bahrain

International Tax Meeting – to be held over 9 & 10 November 2007 in London

Worldwide Quality Assurance Committee Meeting – to be held over 4 & 5 December 2007 in New York

World Congress 2008 – Buenos Aires, Argentina – a pre-congress tour to be held over September 19 thru 25, and the meeting itself September 25 thru 28.  Some more details on this will shortly be included on the AGN website.
