MEETINGS

International Board Meeting – September 28 & 29 – Amsterdam, The Netherlands.  Detailed minutes of the meeting can be found on the agn website (Route:Members/PrivateHome/Login/Members Only/International/International Board Minutes).

West Asia & Africa Regional Meeting – held over 27 & 28 October 2007 in Bahrain – see December edition of Worldwidelink for photographs.

International Tax Meeting – held over 9 & 10 November 2007 in London.  Presentations can be found on the website (Route:Members/PrivateHome/Login/Members Only/International/International Tax Meeting) and the major discussions held are detailed as the lead article in the December 2007 edition of Businessbrief.

Worldwide Quality Assurance Committee Meeting –  held over 4 & 5 December 2007 in New York.  This was held to review the current AGN quality standards and to ensure the status of AGN as an association is upheld.  The recommendations arising will be considered by the International Board at their March 2008 Board meeting and the membership updated after this.

World Congress 2008 – Buenos Aires, Argentina – a pre-congress tour to be held over September 19 thru 25, and the meeting itself September 25 thru 28.  Some more details on this will shortly be included on the AGN website.

The December edition of Businessbrief has been sent out to all members and you should receive your copies shortly.

The next edition of Worldwidelink is being finalised at the present time and will be mailed out to the membership in early January.

WORLD DIRECTORY 2008

This is currently with our printers.  Copies are expected to be sent out to the membership in mid January 2008.

Notification was sent out in early November to all International Contact Partners informing that the system of Referral Fees will be discontinued, with effect from January 1, 2008.  The last reporting period for such fees is, therefore, extended to December 31, 2007 and a communication will be sent out to all International Contact Partners in January 2008 detailing the required reporting deadline.

In light of the cessation of the referral fee system, a new matrix for the annual membership fees has been approved by your Board.  Details of this was provided to all Contact Partners in late November and will be further detailed in the memo accompanying the 2008 fee invoice.

PCAOB – the following two firms have now registered with the PCAOB and the AGN website has been updated to reflect this:
