MEETINGS

A meeting of the Board of Directors was held over the period 28-29 March, 2008 in Kuala Lumpur.  Detailed minutes are currently being prepared for approval by the Board prior to issuance to the membership, but highlights are as follows:

• revisions to Operating Guidelines approved; these relate to the cementation of association status
• independent peer review, over a five year cycle, instituted for firms not subject to a local regulatory review
• commitment given to upgrade smaller regions websites
• upgrade process to current Strategic Plan approved
• commitment given to investigate ways to improve client service in China and certain Pacific Rim countries
• referral reporting system to continue, but on an annual basis, and only for information purposes
• K. Horsburgh resigned as a Director; L. McQuaid appointed.

Asia/Pacific Regional Meeting – is being held in Macau over the period April 27 – 29, 2008.

European Regional Meeting – is being held in Stockholm, Sweden, over June 12-14.

European Regional Board – met in early January to agree the 2008 activities and related budget.

North American Regional Meeting – is set for May 18-21 in Seattle.

West Asia & Africa Regional Meeting – currently set for November in Damascus, Syria.

A PowerPoint presentation is now included in the agn website entitled “AGN International Website – what there is and how it works”.  This describes in detail the contents of the entire website and how to access the information.  It is held in downloadable format and can be found under the heading Website Introduction on the Home page of the members only section (Private pages).

The PowerPoint presentation “2008 – An Introduction to AGN” is now accessible from the International pages in the agn website.  This provides statistics on the organisation, as at January 2008, and can be used for presentational purposes.  Route:  Members/Private Home/Members Only/ International/Marketing AGN

The complete revised Membership Manual will be re-issued later this year incorporating the revised Operating Guidelines, Rules, Byelaws and regional information.  This will also be held on the international website.  Members will be informed when this happens.
