MEETINGS

World Congress 2007 – this is being held in Amsterdam over the period September 30 thru October 2.  Time is getting close and although the official date for registration has passed, there is still some availability of hotel rooms.  So if you (or any of your partners and staff) haven’t yet registered, please do so quickly.  The registration pack, including the downloadable registration form, can be found at:
www.agn.org/members/programs/wc2007

The Company’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday, October 1 during the Congress.  Copies of the 2006 Annual Report of the Company have recently been sent to all international contact partners.  This document includes the Chairman’s Report on the year, the audited financial statements of the Company for 2006 and details of the Annual General Meeting, noting the resolutions to be voted upon.  This will shortly be up on the AGN website (Route: Members/Private Home/Log in/Members Only/International/Annual Reports).

A Board of Directors meeting is being held over September 28 and 29, immediately preceding the World Congress in Amsterdam.  The original timing of the meeting has been extended by one day to fully discuss the future of our organisation and a presentation on this will be made subsequently at the Congress.

The Central & South American regional meeting was held last month in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.  It was superbly organised by SCI, the local member there and was a very productive and discussive meeting.  Further details of the meeting should shortly be up on the regional website, which is currently being updated so that it can replace the regions static pages on the international website – this should be achieved soon.

PUBLICATIONS

The July 2007 edition of Businessbrief has been mailed out to all members together with a copy of each tax brochure published by the European Regional Tax Committee.  An order form was also attached to request more copies.

The August edition of Worldwidelink will shortly be published and sent to all member firms.

MEMBER NEWS

SH+C Wagner Bumes Winkler GmbH (Regensburg) & SH+C Schwarz Hempe & Collegen GmbH (Munich) Germany - Excellence recognised by FOCUS-Money.  In the August 2007 issue 35/3007 of a leading German financial magazine “FOCUS-Money” SH+C made the list of the 140 best tax advisory offices in Germany.  The offices were evaluated based on the tax knowledge, know-how, quality of service, specialisation and business success.  46,000 German tax offices were asked to participate in the survey.  Both the Regensburg and Munich offices were included on the list.  For more information, please visit:

OTHER

Referral Fee Reporting – the referral fee returns for the six months ending April 30, 2007 to be submitted under the new e-reporting system are due by the end of August.  To date, there are still a large number of firms which have not completed this.  If you have not done so, please access the system at:
https://www.agn-hq.org and submit your return as soon as possible.  Even if you don’t have anything to report, please ensure you submit a Nil return; a downloadable User Manual is available after login.  For the current reporting period only complete the referral fee information and not the Annual Return data.

Moniker Competition – you still have a few days left to submit your suggestion for a new meaning for the initials A…G…N…  A prize for the best entry, as decided by the Board, is available – rules are as advised in the April/May Worldwide Update.

Worldwide Survey – a worldwide survey has recently been published by the Managing Partners Forum entitled “The MPF Global 500 Annual Report 2007”.  This report provides a listing of the world’s top professional service firms operating in ten different sectors, comprising accountancy, management consultancy, technology services, marketing services, HR consultancy, design, property consultancy, law, investment banking and IT consultancy.  AGN is included in this listing as the 95th largest such organisation in the world.

Website – All international contact partners will have recently received from the International Executive Office a questionnaire requesting responses in respect of your local country regulatory requirements.  The intention is that such responses will be put on the AGN website for access by the membership as a whole.  Responses have been received in respect of 31 countries and these have now been included in the AGN website (Route: Members/Private Home/Login/International/Professional Standards/Local Country Professional Standards).  The information requested will compliment that in respect of Professional Indemnity cover, which already exists on the website.  If you have not already completed this questionnaire, please do so as soon as possible.

AGN Wall Maps:  this map has recently been sent out to those member firms who requested copies.
