IN THIS ISSUE
3rd QUARTER 2016
MESSAGE FROM THE CEO

Welcome to our Autumn WorldWide Update. I hope that you are prospering and business remains good, despite some of the bizarre political happenings in the world.

Earlier this month, I attended the last of our 2016 series of regional meetings - Buenos Aires, in Central & South America region. Being the most South Westerly location that I have visited this year, it was perhaps fitting that the season started with the most North Easterly, Okinawa, Japan in Asia Pacific region.

As we change and develop AGN in our mission to contribute value to our members, I have noticed that with each meeting event our business-focused content gets stronger, and the look and feel of our new branding (only just over 12 months old) becomes still more pervasive and of higher quality. To me, this is a sign that we are on the right track, and our direction and content is increasingly relevant and valuable to our members. Indeed, our business development content particularly is now substantial, and much of it is leading edge stuff of the same standards used by the giant accounting firms. For example, in the Busniness Development section of the website (My AGN / Business Development [under the AGN KNowledge box]) please do take a look at the "In-it-to-win-it" guide, or new proposal template. Using these tools could directly impact the RFT/proposal performance of your firm.

In the Business Development section of the website, you will also find an increasing array of tools for Talent Development and Practice Performance. Additionally, we are  seeing many more valuable knowledge sharing "share-groups" coming on-line outside the North American region. A lot is changing. Why not drop a line to your usual AGN contact and book a walk-through guided tour of what new AGN tools and support are available to you?

And back at our meetings, I also noticed that all this has not been at the expense of our social programs, which have also been outstanding. This is where relationships are strengthened, we unashamedly have some fun and share experiences together. I will not forget visiting the US Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in California, nor the black tie World Congress gala dinner at the extraordinary Royal Hospital Kilamainham in Dublin. Like many members I am sure, I found that I would not have had these unique and fascinating experiences without AGN.

Great business; great fun experiences. Each has it place, each is valuable. And it is not a choice - we can have both, and we are proving it! I am grateful to all our members for your participation, and also to all our AGN Global team members, who work hard to deliver great developments on top of delivery of a full member service program.

Thank you. I wish everyone well as we push on towards the end of the year and the festive season now coming into view.

Malcom Ward, CEO

  • LOBBY SIGNS CONTEST

AGN CELEBRATES 1st ANNIVERSARY OF NEW LOGO
ENTER CONTEST TO WIN 50% OFF NEXT AGN EVENT
    DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 15 NOVEMBER

It doesn't seem possible, but it has already been one year since the new AGN logo/brand was unveiled in August 2015! In years past, the AGN headquarters sent acrylic signs (with the old logo) for members to display in their office lobbies. With all the work to reorganize and rebrand AGN, it was decided to reinforce our concept of "individual" and "independent" while still being "connected" by encouraging members to use their own creativity to show their clients that they are members of a global organization that can assist with any client international needs.

Our Lobby Signs Contest was announced in August and we have received several entries. There is still time to enter, the deadline has been extended to 15 November. Send us a photo of how your firm is using the AGN logo and you will be entered into a contest to win 50% discount to the next AGN event! (Discount is for one delegate only.)

    Requirements of the contest:
    • Send a photo to your AGN Regional Director by the extended deadline 15 November
    • Make sure the logo is front and centered in the photo
    • Tell us what materials and provider you used
Judging will be by the AGN staff; all decisions are final.

Photos of entries will be displayed as a collage in the next issue of the Worldwide Update. If you haven't created a new lobby sign yet, this is an excellent opportunity to find out what other AGN firms have created!

    Regional Directors are:
Simon Chan (AP); Mireia Rovira (CSA); Marlijn Lawson (EU), Kathy Sautters (NA); Pauline Walzak (WAA)

You may remember at the 2015 World Congress in Vancouver, our host firm, Rolfe, Benson, held a cocktail reception in their office and displayed how they integrated the AGN logo with their firm logo.

    Enter the contest today!
