2017 World Congress - Investing in the Asia Pacific Region
5 - 7 November | Intercontinental Bangkok
Bangkok, Thailand

The Board of AGN International and our member firm in Bangkok, Thai Consultants Group, invite you to the 2017 World Congress in the stunning city of Bangkok, Thailand.

Called “The Venice of the East”, Bangkok is a world-class city of eight million people and one of the major commercial hubs in Asia Pacific, experiencing some of the fastest economic growth in the world. Your clients expect you to be able to advise them and knowledgeably service their needs in this key area and our programme is full of information and connections to help.

Expect gracious Thai hospitality in this both ancient and modern city that welcomes more visitors than any other in the world. A city of contrasts with action at every turn, you’ll marvel at the gleaming temples, catch a tuk tuk (three-wheeled auto rickshaw) in Chinatown or take a longtail boat through floating markets. Food is another delight and ranges from local dishes served at humble street stalls to haute cuisine at romantic rooftop restaurants.

Conference Highlights
The theme of this year’s Congress is “Investing in the Asia Pacific Region.” After an update from our Chair and CEO, the first day of our commercial and technical programme will offer a locally-oriented overview of the business and economic outlook for the region with a focus on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). We will look at client service experiences from our firms and draw practical lessons from businesses in the region.

Day two will focus on International Committees leading informative tax, audit and accounting Asia-oriented breakout sessions with a special business development session that demonstrates opportunities arising from the Chinese government’s “One Belt, One Road,” economic policy. Another session will highlight case studies of growing and innovating businesses in the region and what works. As a change of pace, the closing session explores “Mental Fitness,” for lessons from Eastern practices we can bring back to our work and lives.

A fun city tour with lunch is planned on Sunday, 5 November. AGN members can greet old friends and make new ones at the Opening Welcome Cocktail Reception on Sunday evening (see more at Programme page)

Technical sessions commence at 9:00 on Monday morning, 6 November and a Companion’s Tour with lunch is planned. Don’t miss the evening event, “River of Kings Dinner Cruise,” which offers a leisurely evening of discovery in the ancient heart of Bangkok. (See more at Programme page)

Technical sessions begin again on Tuesday, 7 November, starting with the Annual General Meeting (AGM), followed by committee breakouts and other technical sessions throughout the day. The black tie gala dinner begins at 18:30 and will be held at the Sala Rim Naam Restaurant with dinner, dancing and a terrific time for all. (See Programme page for detail)
