Introducing Effective Leadership for Managers

Becoming a Manager is a critical point in a career. Suddenly you are expected to straddle performing work and managing others, worry about budgets as well as client communications, and also look at internal processes and efficiencies in the practice. This is where technical, operations, client relationships and business development all start to come together.

To help prepare for this new challenge, AGN is pleased to present its new Effective Leadership for Managers program. This year-long course will prepare professionals in all disciplines and all countries for their first true leadership role, giving them time to hone their skills in a supportive environment and build relationships with peers that they can call on for support throughout their careers.

Led by Brad Self of Clark Schaefer Hackett, this program is designed to equip participants with the simple yet powerful principles, values and laws of leadership that can bring about positive behavioral changes to enhance your leadership effectiveness. This is done by helping each person to identify personal behaviors, assess his or her abilities, and develop a plan for improvement. This interactive course will determine the current leadership level, integrate the laws of leadership and create an individual Leadership Action Plan that can be applied to daily practices.

Our year-long program begins with a two-day in-person kickoff session, but it doesn’t end there. The principles are reinforced and enhanced through four interactive webinars held throughout the year. The session concludes with a three-day in-person meeting to share, workshop and bring together the concepts covered throughout the past twelve months.

Finally, it is at this level when professionals really start to strengthen and utilize their network of resources. AGN is poised to be a large part of that network, and we want to help our participants create a camaraderie that will last throughout their careers. Keeping them together throughout this year-long process – and hopefully together through Effective Leadership for Partners – will develop a comfort and familiarity to share ideas, best practices and expertise in the years to come.

Live Training Class 1: Developing the Leader Within You
Today’s leaders must be partners with their people. They cannot lead solely based on positional power. As a leader or leader in the making, we have the incredible opportunity to bring out the best in people. To do this we must draw out the best in ourselves. Leaders and managers are not the same. While leaders may be effective managers, not all managers can rightfully be called leaders.  Individuals who are leaders inspire, motivate, and energize people with their clear visions and strategies towards a shared goal. As a leader, you discern the right course, set the pace, influence others to follow, and inspire them to excellence and success.

The AGN Effective Leadership for Managers Program is designed to help you identify behaviors, assess your abilities, and develop a plan for improvement. This interactive course will assess your current leadership level, integrate the laws of leadership and create a Leadership Action Plan that you can take and apply to your daily practices. It is designed to equip you with the simple yet powerful principles, values and laws of leadership that can bring about positive behavioral changes to enhance your leadership effectiveness.
